Report: Two former NHLers eyeing a return

In his most recent 31 Thoughts column, Elliotte Friedman reported that two former NHL players are eyeing a return to the NHL as early as next season. Friedman named them specifically, them being former Buffalo 1st round pick Mikhail Grigorenko and former Montreal Canadiens Nikita Nesterov.

Nesterov played with the Montreal Canadiens during the 2016-17 season before opting to head home back to Russia and became a member of the Kontinental Hockey League is playing with the CSKA Moscow for the past two seasons. As a member of CSKA Moscow, Nesterov has scored 7 goals and has a total of 37 points in 77 games thus far.

Grigorenko was viewed as a draft bust in the NHL, but has seemed to have cleaned up his act in the KHL with CSKA Moscow scoring 57 points 22 being goals in 80 games.

Friedman didn't comment further which teams would be interested in signing both players, but if they do come back, it's because there's interest in their services.
