Dallas Stars regret re-signing Jamie Benn

Things just seem to get worse in Dallas since the feud between Jamie Benn and the Dallas Stars CEO Jim Lites. It's been reported that the Dallas Stars now regret re-signing the forward.

A source within the Dallas Stars organization has told The Athletic's Sean Shapiro that the franchise regrets ever re-signing forward Jamie Benn. According to the source, Benn winning the Art Ross Trophy is the reason why he signed such a massive contract.
Benn winning the Art Ross could have been the worst things to ever happen to this franchise. It was an award that helped Benn demand his massive contract and set unfair expectations for a player about to exit his prime. In hindsight, that was the moment [we] should have traded Benn for a king's ransom, the source told Shapiro.
Things seemed to have soured big time between the captain and the Dallas franchise, what's your take on the statement.
