MAJOR TRADE RUMOR: Duchene to Nashville, Columbus

In his latest column of 31 Thoughts, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has stated that the Columbus Blue Jackets have made an offer although the offer isn't completely leaked.

According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Columbus Blue Jackets have made an offer regarding pending unrestricted free agent Matt Duchene.

Friedman has stated that the Columbus Blue Jackets have offered Alexander Wennberg as part of a deal that would make Duchene a Blue Jacket before the deadline. With Wennberg needing a new scenery, Friedman feels as if he could play a key part in a trade.

Wennberg has zero even-strength goals and carries a $4.9 million AAV through 2023. However, the deal hasn't been fully leaked as of now, but with Columbus and Nashville being the front-runners we could very well see a trade before February 25th take place.

Other names that have been tossed around are Nashville's Kevin Fiala, Colton Sissons and Ryan Hartman.
