Trade rumor: Sharks and Red Wings closing in on deal involving Nyquist

According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, the San Jose Sharks and Detroit Red Wings are very close to coming to a deal involving pending free agent Gustav Nyquist.

According to Bob McKenzie, Detroit has asked Nyquist to waive his No-Trade Clause for a trade to the San Jose Sharks and he is apparently willing to do so.

According to Pierre LeBrun, 2 draft picks are included in the deal, Darren Dreger added that they are a 2nd round in 2019, and a 3rd conditional in 2020.

Nyquist is in the final year of a 4-year, $19 million contract he signed back in 2015. So far this season, Nyquist is on pace for a career year with 49 points so far in 62 games, his career best 54 points in 82 games.
