The 'Hartford Whalers' made their triumphant return to Boston on Tuesday night in their fan favorite throwback uniforms. The game didn't go quite as planned for the green, blue and white as they lost to the Bruins in overtime.

Not everyone was a fan of the Whalers throwbacks as Boston play-by-play announcer, Jack Edwards voiced his displeasure about a certain ex-Bruin defenseman, Dougie Hamilton and his decision to wear his No. 19 jersey even though the number is retired for the Whalers franchise in honor of Johnny "Pie" McKenzie.
"Pie Face, or Pie was one of the greatest guys you'd ever want to meet...Hamilton was traded from Calgary to Carolina about two weeks after McKenzie died, last June and they gave him No.19....It shows the disconnect between the Carolina marketing department and hockey history."
It wasn't the first time Hamilton was in the news about his number selection.
