Leafs head coach Mike Babcock defends Islanders fans surrounding John Tavares affair

Last week, New York Islanders fans demonstrated their love for former captain John Tavares by booing and throwing plastic snakes at him. A lot of people criticized the fans for their actions, but above everyone else, Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock came to their defence.

A lot of people have criticized the Isles fans for their actions and they have retaliated with infamous actions made by Leafs fans in the past. Toronto head coach Mike Babcock had a little piece of his mind to say about the way Islanders fans treated Tavares.
It was great, but I also thought the people in New York showed the passion they have for John the other night too... when you get booed on the road, you must be something special. That's the way I look at it, Babcock said during an interview.
The comments come after the Isles were criticized by many, including former New York Ranger Sean Avery.
Our fans obviously wanted to support him here tonight. He's an important part of our team, he made a great decision for himself and for his family. To me, that's how you make decisions anyway. We're thrilled to have him, Babcock continued.
Who's side are you on, the Isles or the critics?
