Blockbuster trade rumor: P.K Subban to Vancouver Canucks

When The Athletic's Jason Botchford appeared on TSN 1040, he brought up quite the scenario involving the Vancouver Canucks and star defenceman P.K Subban.

Botchford broke the news that the Calgary Flames are looking to get rid of James Neal's contract after an atrocious year. Botchford suggested that the Flames would be willing to add a sweetener if the Canucks would be willing to take on Neal's contract.
To me, if I'm Calgary and they have to pay Tkachuk, I'm thinking it's a first and a prospect. And a good one, like a Dillon Dube. And then you call Nashville and you go, we've got this guy and Calgary's first. We'll give you that and a sweetener for PK Subban.
Alex Edler is a UFA come this summer, Christopher Tanev and Ben Hutton may be wearing new uniforms if they're not traded this summer.

Vancouver already has Loui Eriksson's and Brandon Sutter's atrocious contracts, but who's to say that Neal won't return to the 20-plus goal scorer he was one season ago? He scored 20-plus goals in all of his other seasons except this year. Plus, you acquire a sweetener that can then be looked towards getting the star defenceman.
