OHL mourns the loss of Kelly Thomson

The OHL and the rest of the hockey world are mourning the loss of former London Knightss and Oshawa Generals forward Kelly Thomson who passed away Sunday morning at the young age of 34.

A member of the London Knights 2005 Memorial Cup Championship team, and also John Tavares' teammate on the Oshawa Generals, Thomson died of complications related to a previously unknown heart problem.
It's difficult to hear (of the passing). He was one of our boys, London Knights GM Mark Hunter told Jonathan Juha of the London Free Press. He was an everyday player. He had grit and determination and he was great in the [dressing] room. He made a lot of friends. It's just too bad and terrible things can happen in this world. He was an integral part of why we won so consistently.
Thomson is survived by his mother, Darlene, and his two brothers Riley and Sean. We are saddened to hear of his passing.
