NHL Trade Rumor: Nikolai Ehlers is on his way out of Winnipeg

The rumblings have begun on what Winnipeg is going to do with Nikolai Ehlers and Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman confirmed yesterday, he feels Ehlers is a prime candidate to get moved by the club.
Ehlers who is under contract for the foreseeable future at a cap hit of $6 million, has yet to reach a 70 point season in the NHL. The Jets are at a cross roads when it comes to their d-core, as word is RFA Jacob Trouba wants out, and Tyler Myers is a UFA and there is going to be a ton of interest in his services. The Jets don't have a ton of cap space so dealing from their strength will be key moving into the 2019/2020 season.

Word out of Winnipeg from sources close to the team mention the following three names as prime targets for the Jets:
1. Tyson Barrie
2. Jared Spurgeon
3. Rasmus Ristolainen

We will keep our ears to the street and bring you more information as it drops, for now Jets fans, are you happy with dealing Ehlers for some D help?
