Report: The Edmonton Oilers GM search could be over

The Edmonton Oilers learned today that Vegas exec Kelly McCrimmon is no longer interested in the General Manager position with the club and according to Darren Dreger, Mark Hunter appears to be the front runner.

Hunter has interviewed several times for the position and Dreger believes he is the favourite for the job. He then would go on to mention Sean Burke and Keith Gretzky as assistant GM's and it appears the Oil will have a new structure leading the way moving forward.

Hunter comes with a wealth of experience and a decorated resume, as he has wore all three hats as a player, coach and executive. It's no secret the Oilers need to find some players who can score and have a d-core that may need some adjusting. It will be a tall order for business for Edmonton's expected new big-3. We wish you luck as the NHL would love to see their best player reach the postseason on a regular basis.
