NHL Trade Rumors: Colorado trades Tyson Barrie and Carl Soderberg

According to TSN's Darren Dreger the Colorado Avalanche have engaged in trade talks for both Tyson Barrie and Carl Soderberg.

Barrie is an offensive defenceman who is capable of producing on a team's top 4 and 1st power play. He has one year remaining at $5.5 million. Soderberg has a modified NTC, where he will submit a 10 team list where he won't accept. The 33-year-old has one year remaining at $4.75 million.

Barrie is rumored to be connected to Pittsburgh, Toronto, Tampa, Detroit and Vancouver. The Avalanche have 5 draft picks in the first 3 rounds of today's draft, and are a team to watch. With their franchise play Nathan MacKinnon locked up for the next 4 years at $6.3 million, the team has a ton of options moving forward.
