Sidney Crosby went to Penguins management about Malkin rumors

Who knew Penguins could fly as the drama out of Pittsburgh is in full flight today. The Athletic's Rob Rossi released an article centered around Evgeni Malkin, however, it may have been Sidney Crosby who stole the show.

Earlier this summer there was a ton of talk surrounding Malkin's future in Pittsburgh and once the rumors made their rounds that the team was looking to move on from #71, #87 stepped in and made sure he wasn't going anywhere.

Once Sidney Crosby got wind of the rumors, according to Rob Rossi, he went straight to Jim Rutherford and made it loud and clear about his desire to have Geno on his team. Crosby was quoted regarding any trade for Malkin - "It's me AND Geno".

Do you think Rutherford could move both of them? Well, absolutely not, so it became clear Phil Kessel would be the contract moved to shake up their forwards.

Mario had Jagr. Gretzky had Kurri. And it appears, Sid had, has and always wants Geno.

Are you surprised by the bromance and Sid's message for management?
