Rumor: Maple Leafs receive offer for William Nylander

The Toronto Maple Leafs have lost Mitch Marner for at least a month and it appears some teams are trying to pry away another one of their top-6 forwards. According to sources connected to the Maple Leafs management team, a lot of other teams' interest surrounds around William Nylander.

Nylander, who is off to a good start with 15 points in 19 games finds himself on the Maple Leafs first line with Auston Matthews, where it's expected he will put up a career year this season. Even though the Maple Leafs find themselves in cap trouble, GM, Kyle Dubas has come public saying he doesn't have interest moving any one of his big names.

The most recent offer came from the LA Kings, who were recently in Toronto and looking to move some pieces to begin their full rebuild. The offer included Alec Martinez, Tyler Toffoli and a draft pick, while the Nylander and Cody Ceci would have gone the other way.

The Maple Leafs are standing pat at the moment, while the Kings are looking to ship everyone out of town not named Drew Doughty and Anze Kopitar.

Two teams with very different directions.
