Rumor: Edmonton Oilers and LA Kings talking trade

The Edmonton Oilers are ready to pounce on a long playoff push, and it appears the team is looking to adding a few more pieces to their pie, as the Oil and Kings have been discussing a deal.

The trade involves the Kings sending forwards Tyler Toffoli and Trevor Lewis to the Oilers, as Edmonton is looking to add some playoff experience and secondary scoring to their forward group.

In order to complete a deal the money is going to need to add up, so expect the Oilers to include Sam Gagner and his $3.15 million dollar contract, along with a substantial prospect to sweeten the pot for the Kings and their rebuild.

The Oilers are waiting to see where Taylor Hall ends up, before they move on any other deal at this time. If Hall goes somewhere besides Edmonton, expect the Oilers to pull the trigger on Plan B.

Rob Blake has been making calls on just about anyone not named Doughty and Kopitar, and in Edmonton, Ken Holland is looking to upgrade around Leon and McDavid.

Blake and Holland's relationship stems back decades so the two believe their could be a match here, and potentially, the deal could work itself out to something bigger with the Kings going one way, and the Oilers going the other.

It takes two to tango, and it's sounding like the music is about to start.
