Marc-Andre Fleury Going Through Tough Times

Josh Yohe of The Athletic revealed how Vegas Golden Knights star goaltender, Marc-Andre Fleury, has been devastated by the recent passing of his father. Teammates and staff members of the Golden Knights also acknowledge the difficulties he is facing in his personal life. He has made some comments publicly, and it's absolutely heartbreaking.
"The quiet moments are so tough. On the bus, or on the plane. Those moments, you know... I think the thing is, my dad was always a part of it. He loved hockey so much, loved watching me play so much. It's always there."      -  Marc-Andre Fleury
He has yet to open up to friends, family and teammates, but each of us handle grief differently. Teammate Deryk Engelland spoke with Yohe, and stated that the entire team is there for him.
"If he needs to talk about it, we'll talk. One of these nights, I'm going to take him out for a beer." - Deryk Engelland
Fleury has also declined this years' invitation to the 2020 NHL All-Star game, which has added to the controversy surrounding player involvement in the event. However, these extenuating circumstances should relieve Fleury of any sanctions from the NHL, but this is likely not the case.
"It's tough. I'm doing my best. Hopefully, time will make me better."      - Marc- Andre Fleury
