NHLTR: Justin Williams receives offers from 3 teams, deal expected soon

According to hockey insider, Pierre LeBrun, 'Mr Game 7' Justin Williams is closing in on a contract for the remainder of this season, and even though the Carolina Hurricanes have remained the favorite, that hasn't stopped the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs from making offers to the 38-year-old veteran forward.

While the Hurricanes continue to work on a contract for Justin Williams, complicated by the 35 and over rules and bonuses and their cap situation, word is the Maple Leafs also made a pitch to Williams this week. Also heard that the Bruins inquired.

All things being equal, it’s clear that Williams’ priority remains coming back with Carolina where his family remains. But there is obviously interest from some other contenders...

Perhaps if one of the contenders added a second year to the deal, it would be a game changer, however, it's obviously been a tough decision for Williams to even consider playing this season, so you can essentially rule that out.

It's expected a decision is coming in the next 48 hours, as Williams has been skating on his own for the past several weeks, gearing up for his mini-comeback.
