Rumor: Chicago and Carolina working on a goalie trade

The Chicago Blackhawks once again find themselves on the outside looking in to the playoff race. The team's considering a slew of moves as they're in transition into their 're-tooling/re-building'. One of their hottest commodities is goaltender, and pending UFA, Robin Lehner.

Enter the Carolina Hurricanes who tried to sign Lehner before he decided to head to the Windy City. The Canes' are open to moving goalie, James Reimer and a 2nd-round pick for Lehner.

The teams continue to have dialogue as they have a history of making transactions and this deal could eventually turn into something bigger.

TSN's Pierre LeBrun has made mention of Lehner's connection with the Hurricanes on a recent episode of Insider Trading as the talks continue between the two clubs.

Trade winds are blowing through, hang on to your hats.
