Rumor: New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning working on big trade

It was reported earlier this week by The New York Post Larry Brooks and Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman that the Blueshirts have been listening to offers for young backup goalie Alexandar Georgiev.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are the hottest team in the NHL right now and are looking to solidify their lineup. Brooks reported that the Lightning are working on a package of young forward prospects and drafts picks to the Rangers for Georgiev and upcoming UFA Chris Kreider. The Lightning and Rangers have been trade partners before at the trade deadline. In 2018 The New York Rangers shipped then captain Ryan McDonagh and J.T Miller to the Bolts for a 1st round pick, Brett Howden, Vlad Namestnikov and a prospect.

Larry Brooks also suggested that with the promising play of newly recalled netminder Igor Shesterkin, maybe the time has come to deal Henrik Lundqvist. He Believes the Carolina Hurricanes would be interested in making a deal for King Henrik.

The Rangers are going to make a goalie move, who is getting shipped out of the Big Apple?
