Rumor: Peter Laviolette to be next Devils Coach

It appears recently fired Head Coach of the Nashville Predators may not be unemployed for long.

The Nashville Predators Hired former New Jersey Head Coach John Hynes yesterday, after Hynes was fired in December of this season. In a strange turn of events, there are whispers that the New Jersey Devils would be interested in bringing the former Stanley Cup winning coach and recently fired head coach of the Nashville Predators Peter Laviolette. The Devils named Alain Nasreddine interim Head Coach on December 3rd 2019 and it's believed that New Jersey GM Ray Shero would prefer a more experienced coach this time around.

We have seen this type of coaches swap before, but they are rare. Back in June 2013 the Vancouver Canucks and New York Rangers swapped coaches. John Tortorella joined the Canucks after being let go by the Rangers. The Rangers then hired a recently fired out of Vancouver Alain Vigneault.

Will we see Peter Laviolette in the Garden State?
