Police release update on the Gritty assault investigation

The Philadelphia police have released further information on the alleged assault involving the Flyer's mascot Gritty, and wouldn't you know - Gritty is free!

The police decided to close their investigation stemming from late last year, as detective's mentioned the actions from Gritty 'did not constitute physical assault as alleged'.

Flyers season-ticket holder, Chris Greenwell claimed the mascot punched his 13-year-old son in the back during a November photo shoot, and it turns out, there's no proof of that ever happening.

Gritty has become a huge hit not only in the NHL but in sports, so it's nice to see this grit grinder will be able to move on in peace.

Team Gritty for the win!
