Rumor: Minnesota Wild demanding more from Toronto Maple Leafs

The Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs have a ton in common. Two teams in opposite conferences who are on the fringe of the playoff picture. Both teams have their own cap issues, while both Bill Guerin and Kyle Dubas try to improve their club for a long playoff run. The Leafs are going hard after Matt Dumba while the Wild won't give him up for nothing.

The latest communicated to NHLTR mentions the Wild and Leafs have held dialogue throughout the past few weeks surrounding RHD Matt Dumba. The Leafs continue to centre their offer around Alexander Kerfoot, Cody Ceci, and prospects. The Wild have since demanded William Nylander be the main piece coming the other way, and would even consider a 1 for 1 mega-swap.

The Leafs however, are not interested moving Nylander who is enjoying himself a solid bounce back season from his contract dispute shortened season a year ago.

It will be tough for the Leafs to pry Dumba out of Minny, as with a couple years left on his deal, the trade package must make sense for today and for the future of the Wild.

The next 11 days will be interesting for both clubs.
