Habs GM Marc Bergevin isn't going anywhere

The Montreal Canadiens are playing in this year's playoffs despite having 0% chance to get in before the pandemic pause. While some have been screaming for changes, it appears the Canadiens ownership is satisfied with where the team sits, and they recently gave GM, Marc Bergevin a vote of confidence.

After some rumblings about Montreal creeping around for a new 'President' of hockey operations, Habs owner, Geoff Molson came out to show support for his general manager:
Am I satisifed that we took a step back? Of course not, and Marc knows that. But I do feel that we have a good plan and I still believe that we're going to get through this. I'll call it a reset and in the first year of our reset, last season, we had a really strong year. I take a step back because it's very difficult to make a decision based on a short period of time, and we embarked on this plan two years ago. It was a commitment to be successful with it and we haven't reached that goal yet, but we sure believe that we have a good plan.
Bergevin hasn't necessarily won over the fan base with his transactions history. With the likes of PK Subban, Mikhail Sergachev, and Mac Pacioretty being dealt, the rest of Bergevin's trades have for the most part been minor deals and haven't worked out.

The vibe of the fan base could easily change with three big wins against the Pittsburgh Penguins, int he play-in round of the 2020 playoffs. Get swept in 3, and look out. Bergevin may want to make sure he has a few more fancy suits in the car, because the crowd will be throwing tomatoes.

Let's see if the Habs can catch-up to their success plan, with Bergevin leading the charge.
