Details revealed about the DISASTER in Arizona!

Oh boy, things are getting ugly in Arizona. As we reported late last week, John Chayka quit his position as 'GM' as there was a huge rift running through the organization which included Chayka, the CEO and ownership. Turns out there's more to the story.

Chayka, who is a busy guy as he founded the company 'Stathletes' and he and his wife own 14 different Wendy's franchises, decided he wasn't being given the keys to the roster like he was told he would, so in turn, quit the day he was supposed to travel with the team to the playoff hub. Also to note is Chayka was being offered a chance at another position outside the organization and was denied permission to even interview.

It's believed to be the New Jersey Devils. Recently it was also reported, the team met with Taylor Hall to wine and dine him about a new extension, turns out Chayka wasn't even invited to the dinner.

Another twist in the severity of the break up is Chayka convinced the new owner Alex Meruelo to buy the team, and now has left a short time later. Meruelo is absolutely furious with Chayka and his decision making and you can bet your bottom dollar, there won't be any Christmas cards sent his way. The Coyotes have now asked Gary Bettman to step in and review Chayka's departure. Must be bad, right?

Here's more from Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman in his hit piece, 31 Thoughts:
The timing is awful, completely foreign to what sports are (and should be) about. The only logical explanation I’ve been given is that Chayka was given legal advice to do it this way.  I assume we’ll find out in the future. When the Coyotes were approached for permission, no one knew if we’d even be playing. There was an extremely awkward phone/Zoom hockey staff meeting last week where president and CEO Xavier Gutierrez got on the line and asked Chayka to declare his long-term commitment to the franchise. Chayka was so uncomfortable with being put on the spot that he gave a halfhearted response. That’s when everyone realized how bad it was.
Here's a statement from Chayka himself, as we will keep our eyes on his next move:
