Rumor: NY Rangers to make trade offer for Flames' Johnny Gaudreau

The New York Rangers have a crowded crease and it's been well documented the team will be looking to move one of their goalies out as soon as possible. With Henrik Lundqvist having one more year on his contract, and newly minted #1, Igor Shesterkin not going anywhere, that leaves 24-year-old, Alexandar Georgiev. The Rangers have and will be making offers that include Georgiev, and this summer it's being rumored they will make a run at bringing 'Johnny Hockey' to the Big Apple.

With the Flames very thin in net and on the blue line with several pending free agents, they're in desperate need to make a 'hockey' trade. Ship out a big name and fill multiple holes. The Rangers may have themselves an easy target.

According to on NHL executive, the Rangers could be busy this upcoming off season:
I see New York on the brink. They have some young talent all over their lineup and it's time to add another scorer. Jack Eichel would cost too much, but someone like Johnny Gaudreau could cost a little bit less, and the Rangers may be rich enough to handle a trade like this. Georgiev, and one of their young D - maybe a Anthony Deangelo, throw in a draft-pick and that would be an interesting package for the Flames to mull over. Keep an eye on the Rangers.
Eyes peeled on these two teams as both GM's are going to have some big decisions to make soon.
