Rumor: Calgary and Pittsburgh discussing multi-player deal

The Calgary Flames and the Pittsburgh Penguins have been in trade discussions for the past couple of weeks. The talks are surrounded around Pens goalie, Matt Murray, as the Flames are looking to acquire a starting goalie to shake up their team.

The Pens have put Murray on the market and are talking to a number of teams including the Flames. Off of Calgary's roster, they have interest in Sam Bennett, and/or Dillon Dube.

The Flames are expected to do what they can to hold on to both of their forwards and have centered their offer around a 'futures' proposal including picks and prospects.

Pittsburgh is under cap constraints for next year so Jim Rutherford has to be creative with his next moves, while the Flames are listening to offers on anyone not named Matthew Tkachuk.

The deal could work itself into something bigger as the Pens are trying to include Nick Bjugstad in any deal for Murray, to create more cap space, as Bjudstad is due $4.1 million next year and has often been injured and hasn't lived up to expectations in Pittsburgh.

These two teams will be busy over the next few weeks leading into next month's draft. If you play for Calgary or Pittsburgh, don't buy green bananas, you may be moving soon.
