Rumored trade package from Montreal to Winnipeg for Laine

Montreal Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin has made a couple savvy moves in the early stages of the off-season. Bergevin traded for goalie Jake Allen to lighten Carey Price's workload. The Canadiens boss also re-signed defenceman Jeff Petry and signed newly acquired Joel Edmundson to shore up the teams backend. It now appears Bergevin's next move may be a blockbuster involving a package of players to bring in an elite goal scorer.

The Winnipeg Jets are offering Patrik Laine in a trade to plug other holes in their lineup, mainly a second-line centre and on defence. According to the Montreal Gazette's Pat Hickey, the Canadiens trade package would start with Max Domi. Domi's dad Tie played in Winnipeg in his early years in the NHL. Along with Domi, Montreal would add their 16th overall pick and defence prospect Cale Fleury. Laine would be the top star he wants to be if traded to the Canadiens, he would play top-line minutes in every situation. Domi would slide in nicely on the Jets second line, replacing injured Bryan Little. The Jets have a amazing track record drafting in the first round and this year's draft is considered the deepest in years.

Is this enough for the Jets to pull the trigger and trade Patrik Laine? Will the Jets get a better deal?
