Jagr Sees Ovechkin Breaking Gretzky's Goals Record

History is created to be broken and if you ask NHL great Jaromir Jagr, he thinks Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals is capable of breaking Wayne Gretzky's record for career goals.

'OV' currently sits 188 goals behind the Great One and is 35-years-old, and likely to play in the NHL for four-to-five more seasons. Besides 2016-17, Ovechkin has been hovering around the 50-goal mark every season and if he can stay healthy over the course of the next few, there's certainly a chance he breaks it.

Ovechkin, who currently sits 8th all-time with 706 goals is pushing for 894 goals to tie the record, and of course, 895 to break it. Jaromir Jagr thinks it's going to happen:

Earlier I thought Ovechkin doesn't have any chances to break Gretzky's goal record. It was six years ago. But Alex has changed and became a better and more effective hockey player than he was in [his] youth. I think he works harder now. He'll be able to [break Gretzky's record] if he can stay healthy and keep working as hard as now.

The 48-year-old Jagr knows exactly what it takes to play late into a career and here's hoping Ovechkin stays healthy so we all get to witness history.
