Chicago Blackhawks Great Brent Seabrook Retires

After a stellar 15-year NHL career defenseman Brent Seabrook of the Chicago Blackhawks has decided to hang up the skates and has retired from professional hockey.

In a statement released by the player, Seabrook mentions how unfortunately the injuries caught up to him and it's in his best interest health wise to walk away from the game he loves:

After several surgeries, countless hours of rehab, and training to get back on the ice at the level of my expectations, it will not be possible for me to continue playing hockey. This is what is best for me and my family.

The 35-year-old British Columbia native has won it all on the grand stage of hockey and was a massive part of the Blackhawks winning three Cups. He will go down as one of the best Blackhawks to ever lace up skates.

Seabrook collected 103 goals, 361 assists and 661 penalty minutes in 1114 career games and also added an amazing 59 points in 123 playoff games in the playoffs on hockey's biggest stage.
