Maple Leafs Acquire Nick Foligno in 3-Team Trade

The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired Nick Foligno from the Columbus Blue Jackets and Stefan Noesen from the San Jose Sharks. The details are as follows:

The Blue Jackets captain and son of former Maple Leaf Mike Foligno heads to the Leafs to provide them with another option for their top-six wing positions or he could land as their third-line center. Noesen on the other hand is purely a depth add for the team's fourth line/AHL club.

In 42 games this season the 33-year-old has managed to tally 16 points. The Leafs won't need a ton of offense from Foligno, but more so they would love to see some timely playoff goals, some toughness and for him to be responsible in his own end.

The pending free-agent is likely to re-sign in Columbus this upcoming offseason but at this point it doesn't matter. Leafs Nation is gearing up for what they hope is a long playoff run and adding Foligno to their roster certainly gives the Leafs a better chance at winning their first playoff series in 15 years.
