Buffalo Sabres Jack Eichel Done for the Season

Jack Eichel of the Buffalo Sabres won't be back this season as the Sabres captain is headed for surgery. Eichel has been battling a neck injury and now rehabbing is off the table and it appears he's headed for going under the knife.

The club announced on Wednesday Eichel's been dealing with a herniated disc in his neck and they expect him to make a full recovery and be ready for to start next season. Eichel hasn't dressed in a game since March 7th and once he returns next season there's a very good chance he could either have a bunch of new teammates in Buffalo or he could potentially be wearing a different jersey. The Sabres were 'considering' offers before the trade deadline but it appears if he does get traded it will have to wait until the offseason.

In 21 games Eichel appeared in this season, he managed to score two goals and record 16 assists. The 24-year-old was coming off a career-high 36 goals in 2019-20 and will look to find his scoring touch when things kick off next season.
