Florida Panthers Receiving Trade Offers on Goaltender

The Florida Panthers have been fielding trade calls this week and the biggest target is goaltender Chris Driedger. The pending unrestricted free-agent has been a great story out of Florida this season and at only $850,000 on the cap, it makes sense team's looking for some goaltending depth would reach out.

The Panthers recently signed first-rounder Spencer Knight, which according to TSN's Pierre LeBrun sparked a ton of trade calls from other teams about what they were going to do with Driedger.

So far this season the 26-year-old has appeared in 16 games for the Panthers and has quietly been one of the best goalies in the league with a 2.18 GAA and a .927 save %. Florida has veteran Sergei Bobrovsky signed at $10 million per season for the next six-years, so if Driedger is looking for a big raise, the 'Cats won't be able to afford it.

Teams interested in the 6'4 netminder include the Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, Carolina Hurricanes, and Colorado Avalanche.

Keep an eye on Florida as they will be active before April 12th. The team continues to look for some help on defense and could use their backup goalie to land them some new talent.
