Leafs Provide 'Update' on the Health of Freddie Andersen

The Toronto Maple Leafs are dealing with a mystery injury with goaltender Frederik Andersen as they continue to stay hush with the media and provide limited details. Head coach Sheldon Keefe met with the media before Saturday's and updated everyone on the latest on Andersen's status.

Here's what the Leafs coach had to say according to Chris Johnston of Sportsnet:

I think the easiest way to describe it is there's no timeline to the injury. It's just really a matter of Fred being comfortable with where he's at and how he's feeling.

While Andersen's been out, Jack Campbell has taken over the crease and been historic. The backup turned starter won his 11th game in a row and has name started 11-0-0 to start this season which is a Maple Leafs and NHL record. Considering Campbell is under contract for next season at $1.65 million, the Leafs may have found gold on their hands.

As for Andersen, he's struggled throughout this season and has been notorious for not playing good hurt. The 31-year-old pending unrestricted free agent is 13-8-2 with an .897 save percentage this season and had lost five of six appearances before being sidelined.

Look for the Maple Leafs to acquire a veteran pending free-agent netminder before 3pm eastern on Monday.
