Rumor: Maple Leafs Offering Huge Trade Package to Several Teams

The Toronto Maple Leafs are one of the most creative teams when it comes to trades and recently made a 'depth' move by acquiring the injured Riley Nash. While this move doesn't necessarily move the needle for the team, it sets up management with additional cap space for the trade deadline. The Leafs also moved Frederik Andersen to LTIR, which could be for the remainder of the regular season and if so, all of a sudden they will have roughly $7 million in cap space to use for Monday's trade deadline.

Because of this 'new found money' the Leafs have reportedly discussed some big names to acquire. According to a source close to Leafs operations the team is willing to include prospects Timothy Liljegren, Mikhail Abramov, Filip Hallander, and roster players Alexander Kerfoot, Travis Dermott and Pierre Engvall. The Leafs first-round draft pick is also in play.

Two teams to watch as a potential trade partner for the Leafs are the St Louis Blues and Calgary Flames. The Leafs have been linked to Mike Hoffman and Tyler Bozak from the Blues and goaltender David Rittich from the Flames.

Leafs Nation should buckle up, this trade deadline is going to be an entertaining one for the Maple Leafs.
