San Jose Sharks Open to Interesting Trades

The San Jose Sharks are looking to hit the 'reset' button and management is getting creative in their ways. General manager Doug Wilson has reportedly been open to using his salary cap space to take on a bad contract, this way the other team will sweeten the pot with another asset or two.

The Sharks don't mind being someone's cap relief system if it means the team acquires another young player or high draft pick in the deal. The team currently has roughly $6 million in cap space and is eager to use this as leverage.

The cap is expected to remain flat for at least another two seasons so this is a great bargaining tool for the Sharks. Wilson admitted weeks ago the team would be looking to make some moves to help the future of the hockey club, which pissed off a lot of the team's veterans including Erik Karlsson who was quick to point out he didn't sign a massive extension to be a part of a rebuild.

The Sharks are expected to trade goaltender Devan Dubnyk, and are willing to listen to offers on just about everyone else on their roster as well, including Karlsson and Brent Burns.

Interesting waters in the Shark Tank these days.
