Edmonton Oilers Coach Provides Controversial Update

Edmonton Oilers head coach Dave Tippett met with the media on Sunday and provided an update that was a touch surprising. Tippett informed reporters forward Jujhar Khaira would be returning to action sometime this week.

For those who don't remember, Khaira last played on April 19th against the Montreal Canadiens. The Oilers forward left this game after being knocked out by a hit from Habs defenseman Alexander Romanov. Not only did he have trouble skating off and was visibly messed up and woozy, the hit came just a couple of weeks after Khaira was knocked out cold in a fight with Calgary Flames forward Brett Richie.

So how has it been deemed safe for Khaira to get back out there after two obvious and potentially serious concussions?

Watch for yourself and let us know your thoughts. Here are the two plays that happened within weeks of each other and now Khaira is apparently 'A-OK' to get back out there for the intensity and physicality of playoff time.

Be better, NHL.
