Trade Rumor: St Louis Blues Preparing Huge Offer for Jack Eichel

Word is the St Louis Blues will be one of the many teams making offers for Buffalo Sabres captain Jack Eichel and the Blues will be going in strong. The team is expected to include multiple first-round picks along with NHL experienced players.

As with many teams interested in Eichel, they are holding out hope the Sabres will be interested in retaining roughly $2 million of Eichel's $10 million salary. While this seems like a stretch, cap space is at an all-time premium and teams are willing to include draft picks or prospects which could entice the Sabres to agree.

The offer from the Blues is expected to include Robert Thomas, Oskar Sundqvist, Vince Dunn, and two first-round picks. Dunn and Thomas are both headed for restricted free-agency and are under team control.

The list of teams interested in Eichel to this point include the mentioned Blues, Calgary Flames, LA Kings, New York Rangers, Minnesota Wild, and Anaheim Ducks. It's only a matter of time before the Sabres receive an offer they can't refuse. Expect to see Eichel moved at the NHL draft or shortly after.
