2 Potential Landing Spots for Washington Capitals Evgeny Kuznetsov

The Washington Capitals are going to look much different next season as their management team looks to begin re-tooling on the fly. One name you can expect to see moved is Evgeny Kuznetsov as the Caps are sick and tired of his antics and are already listening to offers.

2 Potential Teams Who Could Trade for Kuznetsov:

Anaheim Ducks: The Ducks are in on Jack Eichel and they will be in on Kuznetsov. The team is trying to find a 1-A center to pass the baton to from Ryan Getzlaf and the 29-year-old Russian could be the perfect fit. Kuznetsov holds a 15-team no trade clause, but it's likely the California teams make the approved list.

Colorado Avalanche: The Avs are going to examine the trade market for Nazem Kadri and there could be some traction to a Kuznetsov for Kadri swap. Sure, there may be others involved but the Capitals know Kadri well from his days with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The kicker here is Kuznetsov's behavior. He was the only player to test positive for COVID twice and he's currently banned from international play for testing positive for cocaine. Would Joe Sakic trade a gamble for a gamble? Doubtful, but if anyone can get him back on track it would be Sakic.

Look for any Kuznetsov trade to go down after July 1st, as he's owed a $5 million signing bonus. Once that's been paid, expect the serious offers to flood in and while the Ducks and Avs will be in the mix, honorary mention to the St Louis Blues and Dallas Stars - who are two teams expected to send offers.
