Rumor: Arizona Coyotes Trading Young Dynamic Forward

The Arizona Coyotes tested the trade market during the regular season on forward Conor Garland and it appears they will be doing so again this summer as it's being reported by Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, the 'Yotes are likely moving on from Garland.

Seravalli scribes the current restricted free-agent was asked by the team to submit two contract proposals by May 20th, and his agent ensured to do so. Now the team hasn't responded at all and totally have left Garland's camp on read.

Considering how bad the Coyotes are, it makes no sense why they would want to trade the 25-year-old who was a huge part of their team this season. Of course, it comes down to money and he's expected to receive a contract around $3-4 million per season. Garland produced 39 points in 49 games in 2020-21 and then went on to star for Team USA at the World Championships, scoring 13 points in 10 games.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are the team to watch here as they love Garland and were close to acquiring him at the deadline. If Zach Hyman walks, or quite frankly even if he doesn't, look for the Leafs to make another strong push to add Garland to their mix.

If it's not the Leafs, there will be other teams interested including the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers and Columbus Blue Jackets. One things for sure, Garland can start preparing to leave the desert heat.
