2 Teams Who Should Trade For Matt Dumba

With the Expansion Draft almost upon us, the Minnesota Wild are likely moving on from Matt Dumba. They are in a particularly tough position, as he would be the best player exposed if the Wild decide to protect three defensemen. Ryan Suter, Jared Spurgeon, and Jonas Brodin all have no-movement clauses, so they have to be protected. As a result of this, Dumba has been a very popular name in the rumor mill. With him being a right-handed, top-four defenseman, he certainly will get a lot of interest around the league.

These two teams absolutely should be looking to add Dumba before the Expansion Draft.

Ottawa Senators

The Ottawa Senators may have started the year poorly, but they turned it on at the end. The future is looking brighter for this rebuilding club and adding a guy like Dumba would make them even better. Having a top pair of him and Thomas Chabot would be ridiculously strong. The Senators also have money to work with, so adding Dumba would not be out of question.

Philadelphia Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers have a strong group of forwards, but need some serious help on the backend. This and inconsistent goaltending made them quickly fall out of playoff contention this season. They have been linked to Matt Dumba, which makes all the sense in the world.

The right side is particularly weak with their top-six defensemen, and Dumba is the perfect player to add to fix this. His $6 million cap hit for the next two seasons is manageable for them, too.
