Rumor: Chicago Blackhawks Make Offer for Jack Eichel

According to Larry Brooks of the New York Post, the Chicago Blackhawks are one of the teams who have some serious interest in acquiring Jack Eichel from the Buffalo Sabres, and the Hawks may have enough to get the deal done.

The Sabres have a ton of interest in Blackhawks youngster Kirby Dach, who missed most of last season with a wrist injury and Buffalo would want the #11 overall pick at this year's draft in the deal. It's all going to come down to how much the Blackhawks want to pay, but it appears with their injury troubles/retirements, they have enough money to fit Eichel in their plans.

The kicker here is Jonathan Toews and his health. If Captain Serious is able to play next season, it's unlikely the team trades for Eichel, but that's all speculation at this point.

The Blackhawks are one of several teams who have contacted the Sabres about an Eichel trade. It appears Chicago is trying to outbid the New York Rangers, Minnesota Wild, Anaheim Ducks, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Philadelphia Flyers.
