David Krejci Is Done With The Boston Bruins

It was reported that David Krejci would be returning to the Boston Bruins, but now that is not occurring. The 35-year-old center has announced that he will going home and continuing his career in the Czech Republic. He had spent his entire 15-year NHL career with the Bruins.

Krejci had been a member of the Bruins since the 2006-07 season and became one of their most important players very quickly. He formed a fantastic one-two punch down the middle with Patrice Bergeron, so his presence will surely be missed immensely. In 51 games this season, he was still very productive, as he scored eight goals and had 44 total points. He formed instant chemistry with Taylor Hall once he was traded there, too.

In 962 games with the Bruins, he scored 215 goals and recorded 730 points. Finding a replacement for him will be extremely difficult, as the team only has a little over $1 million of cap space to work with. Thus, this is a very huge blow for the team.

Nonetheless, Krejci had a strong career in the NHL and deserves praise. He will now have the chance to play in his home country in front of his family, which is an awesome thing for him.
