Rumor: New Jersey Devils Discussing Trade with Several Teams

The New Jersey Devils are trying to move on from P.K. Subban and have engaged several teams in trade discussions for the veteran defenseman. The Devils are even reportedly willing to retain salary if needed on Subban's $9 million contract next season.

The 32-year-old has never lived up to expectations in New Jersey on the ice and last season recorded 19 points in 44 games. Subban has a tendency to show flashes of brilliance and then make costly mistakes as he's done his entire career. He's very much a high-risk high-reward type of defenseman.

There's several teams who need help on the right-side of their defense, including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Winnipeg Jets, Calgary Flames, and Chicago Blackhawks.  We'll all have to wait and see what kind of damage the Seattle Kraken pull off on Wednesday and the list of suitors could double immediately.
