Columbus Blue Jackets: 2 Players Most Likely Getting Traded

The NHL offseason is underway and there's been a ton of movement so far this summer. Along with mega-contracts being handed out and an expansion draft in Seattle, there's been multiple trades that will have huge impacts on the 2021-22 NHL season. Trades will continue this summer and of course into next season, so we shift our focus to the next deal for each franchise.

Follow along as we highlight a couple of players from each team who are most likely to be traded next. Our last piece was on the new-look Chicago Blackhawks and for today's segment we head to Ohio and zone in on the Columbus Blue Jackets.

2 Blue Jackets Most Likely to be Traded Next:

Max Domi: There's tons of speculation the team has been trying for weeks to deal Domi out of Columbus and the chatter doesn't appear to be going away anytime soon. He was left exposed in the expansion draft and Seattle decided to pass. The 26-year-old didn't have a good season in his first in Ohio and with Josh Anderson playing lights out for the Montreal Canadiens, this one is a tough pill to swallow for management. Expect to see Domi moved at some point during the 2021/22 season.

Patrik Laine: The reports out of Finland this summer indicated Laine was looking at the short-term in Columbus and wanted to get back on track after a down season. The sniper has potential to score 50-goals on the regular and will need to find his consistent game if he wants to remain a first-line winger. Last season while he battled with Torts, he also battled with the other assistant coaches, and now gets to call Brad Larsen his head coach. If Columbus struggles this season, look for the Blue Jackets to move Laine to another team.
