Nashville Predators: 2 Players Who Could Be Traded Next Season

The NHL offseason is underway and there's been a ton of movement so far this summer. Along with mega-contracts being handed out and an expansion draft in Seattle, there's been multiple trades that will have huge impacts on the 2021-22 NHL season. Trades will continue this summer and of course into next season, so we shift our focus to the next deal for each franchise.

Follow along as we highlight a couple of players from each team who are most likely to be traded next season. Our last piece we checked in on the Montreal Canadiens and today we head Smashville and tune in with the Nashville Predators.

2 Predators Most Likely Getting Traded Next Season:

Filip Forsberg: The 27-year-old winger was not happy when long-time teammate Viktor Arvidsson was traded to the LA Kings and voiced his displeasure on social media. Forsberg is in the final season of his contract and will hit the open market next summer as one of the biggest names available. Expect to see the Preds trade Forsberg for a huge package at or before the trade deadline next season, and anyone expected to make the playoffs will be interested. Forsberg is as skilled as anyone in the league and coming off a season where he put up 32 points in 39 games. Look for him to reach 80 points next season in a full 82-game sched.

Ryan Johansen: The Predators dangled Johansen to a number of teams this summer including the Seattle Kraken but unfortunately for them, had no bites. When you make $8 million and collect only 22 points in 48 games, you can't really blame anyone for the lack of appetite. If the deal goes down sometime next season, look for Nashville to retain maximum money and for the Preds to have to add a sweetener. Needless to say this signing has not worked out for Nashville at all.
