Trade Rumor: Vladimir Tarasenko to the Carolina Hurricanes

According to reports, Vladimir Tarasenko of the St Louis Blues has been discussed in a trade that would see him end up with the Carolina Hurricanes.

As of late, it's been the New York Rangers, New York Islanders and New Jersey Devils who have been linked to the Russian winger's services, however the Hurricanes are becoming quite the dark horse. The team is looking to improve their scoring depth from last season and losing some key players certainly hasn't helped the outlook to this point.

Tarasenko holds trade protection, however is expected to be interested in joining the Hurricanes. The trade would likely involve an NHL defenseman and two top forward prospects heading to the Blues.

The Hurricanes currently have just over $12 million in cap space, lots of room to add Tarasenko without having to deal off their NHL roster for cap issues. Last season the Blues sniper recorded 14 points in 24 games and is now fully healthy from multiple shoulder surgeries and looking to get back to his 40-goal seasons.

Keep an eye on these two teams as there seems to be way more traction here than with any of the teams in the New York area.
