Denis Malgin Is Heading To Switzerland

Denis Malgin has signed a four-year deal with the ZSC Lions of the National League. The Toronto Maple Leafs will have control over his NHL rights if he ever aims to come back to the league.

Malgin is a familiar face with the organization, as he played his junior hockey and two professional seasons there.

This past season, Malgin did very well in the NL with Lausanne HC. In 45 games, he scored 19 goals and recorded 42 points. When the NHL regular season started up again, he was back with the Maple Leafs, but failed to get any action. Thus, it does make sense as to why he is taking his talents back to his home country.

If Malgin can carry over his NL success from last season to this one, ZSC will be ecstatic to have him on board.

In 192 career NHL games with the Florida Panthers and Leafs, he had 28 goals, 32 assists and 60 points. With him still being only 24 years old, perhaps the forward could claw his way back to the league later down the road.
