Trade Rumor: Dallas Stars Expected to Make Multiple Deals

The Dallas Stars have a ton of questions to answer during the 2021-22 season and one in particular will have a lasting impact on their franchise. The Stars have multiple players entering the final year of their contracts and word is some big trades are expected at some point this season.

According to Matthew DeFranks of Dallas Morning News, the Stars are going to be busy this season and could be in line to trade defenseman John Klingberg, goaltender Braden Holtby, and forwards Joe Pavelski and Alexander Radulov.

Klingberg is certainly a name to watch as the offensive defenseman must be loving what he's seeing out of the market for d-men. There's been some massive contracts signed in the past 12 months and that bodes well for his bank account next summer. In 2020-21 the mobile defenseman recorded 36 points in 53 games. He's entering the final season of his contract which is paying him $4.25 million in 2021-22 and there's potential after another huge season, Klingberg could be in line for over $7 million per season on his next deal.

The Stars are certainly a team to watch as they have some big names coming back to their lineup and if they can stay healthy, there's a good chance they can once again go deep in the playoffs. If they struggle and are out of the picture before the trade deadline, they're one team to watch as they will be shipping out all their pending free agents.
