Video: Jake DeBrusk Scores Shootout Winner For Boston Bruins

Jake DeBrusk scored the shootout winning goal for the Boston Bruins last night against the Washington Capitals. This should be a nice confidence booster for the young winger, especially with how nice the goal was.

DeBrusk has been one of the most criticized players on the Bruins all summer because of how much he struggled last season. In 41 games, the 2015 first-round pick scored five goals and had 14 points. It was a noticeable decline in production, as he had 19 goals and 35 points in 65 games the season before. He also had a 27-goal campaign during the 2018-19 season. Therefore, more has to be expected from him this go-around.

DeBrusk was also rumored to be traded this off-season, but now with it being so close to the regular season, he likely will be staying in Boston. If he continues to have performances like last night, Boston fans should lighten up with him. He also had a goal in regulation, too.

Nonetheless, we will have to wait and see if DeBrusk can continue to play like this during the regular season. It definitely would help the Bruins if so.
