Big Update Regarding Nikita Kucherov's Injury

The Tampa Bay Lightning announced Wednesday that Nikita Kucherov had a successful procedure and will be out for the next eight to ten weeks with a lower-body injury.

Earlier this month against the Washington Capitals, Kucherov tried to skate by forward Garnett Hathaway, but made slight contact with him and immediately was in clear pain. From here, he had trouble skating off the ice. Shortly after the injury occurred, the Lightning placed him on LTIR for the second time in two years.

However, when it comes to this time, Kucherov will be returning far earlier. He missed the entirety of the 2020-21 regular season, but of course came back at the start of the playoffs.

Kucherov was off to another hot start with the Lightning this season. In three games, he has a goal and four points. Once he is fully healthy, he should continue to dominate.
