Canadiens Provide Update on Edmundson and Price

The Montreal Canadiens are starting the 2021-22 season banged up. The team is expected to be without goaltender Carey Price for at least another couple of weeks, meanwhile defenseman Joel Edmundson will be out longer term.

The two players play much different roles for the Canadiens but are both key factors for the club. Price is rehabbing his knee injury and has come down with an illness. Makes sense the team doesn't want to rush him back and wants to ease him into action after wild summer. Look for Price to get a couple of AHL games under his belt potentially before making his NHL debut this season.

As for the Canadiens defense, look for Alexander Romanov to step up in Edmundson's place. The young Russian is prepared to take the next step with the franchise this season and this injury gives him a giant opportunity to start the season.
